Glen has
worked in the field of limnology (lake studies) and

lakes. This includes working with the
construction industry to have erosion and
sedimentation controls in place during development
activities, to prevent contaminated stormwater from
reaching lakes.
For
seven years, from 1983-1991, Glen was a full-time
trainer for the State of California, teaching state

and other land use practices. Commonly used
BMPs were sediment retention ponds, a rock-lined
grassed waterways (as well as other BMPs to repair
gullies), and stream/riverbank stabilization
techniques.
TERRY WERNER
I have
been involved for the past fifteen years with the
City of Post Falls in the water distribution and
treatment and wastewater fields. In 2003, I
was appointed the Post Falls Public Works Director
overseeing the operations of the Water, Wastewater,
Street, Fleet Divisions and Facility Maintenance.
Protection of the Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer has
become a very important issue and I feel I am
fortunate to have had the opportunity to become
involved in that endeavor. The search for new
ways to use the effluent generated at the Wastewater
Treatment prompted my plan to purchase land on the
Rathdrum Prairie and through land application of the
effluent, create a green space of approximately 463
acres. Although I met with much opposition
from various forces, when the proposal was put to
vote, the citizens passed it 3-1.
CHRIS WERNERT

addition, Chris is working on establishing a Valley
County addendum to the IDEQ State Stormwater BMP
Manual.
