TERRY WERNER

I have been involved for the past fifteen years with the City of Post Falls in the water distribution and treatment and wastewater fields.  In 2003, I was appointed the Post Falls Public Works Director overseeing the operations of the Water, Wastewater, Street, Fleet Divisions and Facility Maintenance.

Protection of the Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer has become a very important issue and I feel I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to become involved in that endeavor.  The search for new ways to use the effluent generated at the Wastewater Treatment prompted my plan to purchase land on the Rathdrum Prairie and through land application of the effluent, create a green space of approximately 463 acres.  Although I met with much opposition from various forces, when the proposal was put to vote, the citizens passed it 3-1.
